How it works
From request to safely arrived
Booking a ride for your pet should work like booking any other cab — except this one expects your dog. Here is exactly what happens.

- 01
Enter pickup and drop
Type where your pet is going. We measure the road distance and price the trip from it — no guessing, no calling round for a quote.
- 02
Choose an auto or a cab
You see every vehicle that can do the trip with its fare. An auto is usually cheapest for one pet across town; a cab gives more room, air conditioning and crate space. Airport and outstation trips are cab-only.
- 03
A verified driver accepts
Your request goes to nearby pet-friendly drivers whose certification covers that trip, and the first to accept takes it. You get their name and vehicle before pickup. Unaccompanied trips only reach drivers certified in animal handling.
- 04
Pickup
The driver arrives with the vehicle you were told to expect. Your pet is secured properly — in their carrier or ours — before the vehicle moves.
- 05
Drop and confirmation
Your pet is handed over and you get confirmation. If they travelled alone, that confirmation is how you know they arrived safely.
Outstation
Intercity trips are pre-booked
Intercity trips work differently: they are pre-booked and quoted rather than booked on demand, because they need planning around paperwork, rest stops and sometimes an overnight stay.
Questions
Practical things
How quickly will a driver accept?
Local autos and cabs are booked on demand, so it is usually minutes. Trips needing a specific certification — unaccompanied travel, airport runs, a reactive pet — draw from a smaller pool of drivers, so booking a little ahead helps.
Can I book a pet-friendly auto?
Yes, and for one pet across town it is normally the cheapest option. Every auto on PetCab is driven by a verified pet-friendly driver. Autos do not run airport or outstation trips.
Will I know who is driving?
Yes. You get the driver's name and vehicle registration before pickup.
What should I have ready at pickup?
A collar and lead, your pet's carrier if they have one, and any medication or paperwork the destination needs. For unaccompanied trips, make sure whoever is receiving your pet knows the driver is coming.
Can I change or cancel a booking?
Yes — the sooner the better. Cancellations close to the pickup time may carry a charge, since the driver has usually already set off. See our cancellation policy for details.
